2024 Ham Radio Expo

The 2024 Ham Radio Expo presented by The Bored Net will be August 31 at Cal State University Channel Islands. The one day educational event will be free of charge. No admission fee. No banquet. No focus on vendors (a few might be present, but this is not a trade show). All clubs in the Santa Barbara section are invited to have a free booth/table to not only promote their club, but to promote ham radio.
Bring something fun and educational to talk about and show off. Speakers will be present both in person and via video presentation. There is a short SOTA walk planned to Round Mountain, led by a Chumash member. Round Mountain, next to the CSUCI campus, is a place of special importance to the Chumash people. The trail is usually closed to the general public.
The new CSUCI ham radio club will be featured, and will be the host. The school is putting on the show. No swapmeet or tailgating is planned. The school cafeteria will be open for all meals and snacks.
The ARRL announced that the Expo has been approved to be the Santa Barbara Section Convention for 2024. Dick Norton will be the ARRL Forum host and speaker.
